The side's main event is the Yorkshire Dales Tour which has been held annually at Spring Bank Holiday (formerly Whitsun) since 1952 and has therefore become a tradition in its own right. The Monday morning 10am show in Kettlewell is a highlight, and is normally attended by an audience of hundreds. In 2002 we celebrated the 50th Dales Tour on the Queen's Jubilee weekend. On Thursday evenings from May to July we will present one or two shows of our dances in the city of Leeds and in surrounding towns and villages, often choosing pubs and inns of character for our shows. The link to the left will take you to details of the places we are visiting in 2012. Apart from our regular weekly summer Thursday performances, we normally undertake a number of tours in the Leeds area. These are being planned at the present time. Leeds Morris Men will be appearing as guests at a number of sides' weekends of dance and other events during the year. You will find details under "Guest Appearances" - see link to left - when they become available. Leeds Morris Men will be performing a Mummer's play at Christmas and are regular contributors to Whitby Folk Week in August. At Castle Howard, July 2006 |
